3rd Annual
Houston Spiritual Festival

November 1, 2024 - November 2, 2024

Preserving African American Culture through Song

Voices of Houston’s Annual Spiritual Festival (HSF) is a platform for community organizations and educational institutions to collaborate in the preservation and elevation of the Negro Spiritual. Serving as a musical record of African American dialect, coded language, and codified forms of protest, the Negro Spiritual is not only an incredibly valuable element of Black heritage but also the root of many other forms of music we enjoy today. Ensembles will gather over two days to participate in workshops, masterclasses, and a collaborative concert to honor Black legacy.

Join us for the Houston Spiritual Festival closing concert, “The Escape,” on November 2nd at 6:00p.

Featured ensembles include: Prairie View A&M University Choir, Jarvis Christian University Choir, Kinder HSPVA Treble Choir, Davis High School Singers, Southwind High School Choir, and Eisenhower High School Choir.
