    Christopher Carter

    Founder & Artistic Director

    Christopher C. Carter, is an educator, musician, and servant leader who is dedicated to using music to propel positive social change. As Founder and Artistic Director of Voices of Houston he structures programs, directs recruiting and retention campaigns, and partners with the Leadership Team to develop significant musical experiences.

    Alora Allen

    Community Engagement Coordinator

    Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Alora Allen found a passion for serving her city and exploring opportunities to support its art. Now a Houston resident, she strives to create safe space through relationship building in her new home. As the Community Engagement Coordinator at Voices of Houston, she develops member programs, activities, and special events to foster community and spark the long-lasting bonds that make Voices of Houston the true community it has become.

    Chairein Jackson

    Director of Operations

    Originally from Austin, Texas, and now rooted in Houston, Chairein Jackson is a music consultant and former music educator with a lifelong connection to the arts. She serves as Director of Operations for Voices of Houston, managing logistics, supporting both the structure and spirit of the organization, and contributing to an environment where the choir continues to flourish.

    Brandi Poyer

    Director of Communications

    Brandi Poyer oversees branding, marketing, and public relations for Voices of Houston. As a native to the greater-Houston area, she brings over 20 years of choral experience and a music business background from Hardin-Simmons University, combining artistic passion, strategic expertise, and a love for her fellow Houstonians to elevate the organization’s voice and presence.

    Rolethial McKelvey

    Collaborative Artist

    Houston native, Rolethial McKelvey, is a pianist and music educator who is a Collaborative Artist with Voices of Houston and a pianist for Houston Ebony Opera Guild and First Presbyterian Church of Conroe. She has also served as a teaching artist and accompanist for Theater Under the Stars’ Humphreys School of Musical Theater as well as smusic director for Rice University’s production of ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’.
